If you thought plaids and gingham were very last December, you thought wrong. They were all the rage, and still are all the rage, it seems. How else can you explain all these gingham and plaids still coming out?? Luckily they're appearing on my favourite item of clothing; the mini skirt. You absolutely cannot hate them. Especially since this one has an elastic band , as well as functional zipper pockets! I love pockets. Give me anything with pockets and I'll love them. Okay, that's not entirely true. :P

Rings these days are becoming so freaking cool!! Round, silver, plain rings are so aeons ago; bring in the kitsch, random shaped rings, like this plug one! Very fragile, but too cool. I'd wanna layer my fingers with rings like these, ala Karl Lagerfeld. Except that my rings aren't vintage. They're cool. :D

People will always love charmbracelets, because you can choose whatever charms you like, and they're always so cute! I like the vintage feel of this; tarnished, brass. Makes you wanna slip on a vintage white cotton dress with this bracelet and prance around in the woods.

They have a whole range of colours for this mini skirt, but I think this grey one would make a very cool schoolgirl outfit. Yes, I miss my high school years. *sighs reminiscently* Unfortunately though, high school didn't have short grey skirts. I wish. So I'll make believe and pair this grey skirt with a button-up white shirt, knee high black socks and black pumps!

Okay, how often do you see a maxi dress that has batik-like prints, and a bat-winged toga? This dress spells ethereal and goddes and oh I don't know, a perfect stroll by the beach? Even though this is reserved, you can still pray for backouts! Tee hee. There's a whole other range of maxi dresses available too. Hop on over to their site. ;)

Le sigh. I feel so hopeless lately. I never used to leave house without a pair of earrings on. Now I feel so lazy to dig out a pair of earrings that match my outfit. Is this a sign of growing old? Nooo...I am still young! I haven't even passed my teenhood. Nonetheless. Isn't this pair of earrings so twinkly and girly? It has stars, pearls, diamantes, and those dangly things! Very Korean style, especially when paired with an off-shoulder top and skinny jeans with heels.

Super Gorgeous!
.

Super gorgeous this dress is! Dare you wear this not-so-plunging neckline halter dress? If you wear this out to dinners, heads will surely turn. To be a little more modest, wear a tube underneath, or a cropped cardigan over. Or maybe a biker jacket! It will be a shame to cover those floral designs on the neckline though. Pair this monochromatic dress with more brightly coloured shoes.

Le Femme Fatale
.

You've seen chintz chairs on necklaces. Now let them be seen on your ears! It's so cute; they even have ribbons on the earrings. If you have a chintz chair necklace already, you should totally get this to make it a set.
.

When I saw this sleeveless cardigan, I fell head over heels over head over heels (you get my drift) in love with it! How can anything so slouchy look so good?? The model has really pulled it off well. It has funky pockets which looked like it's been ironed on wrongly, and best of all, if you don't like it long, you can adjust it to make it shorter! But of course, I like it long, so that I can wear tights with no pants. ;D
.

We have couple rings, couple keychains, couple shirts...and now we have LV couple cellphone straps. Hey, I have an idea, why don't we have couple shoes next?? Haha. Anyway, this cellphone strap is real classy looking. I'm all for minimalism, and this cellphone strap has it. I would get this for the boyfriend, but he doesn't like cellphone decorations. Pfft.

Only Branded Replica

Messenger bags are cool. Especially androgynous ones like this. I'm not really a fan of designer goods, but damn this Gucci bag is cool. Imagine sidling into class with this, a graphic tee, jeans and canvas shoes, and aviators.

The Shoplifters

It's not fair. It really isn't fair. How come all the good stuff's either been reserved or sold?? I really liked the leather shorts. Aargh. But it's okay. At least this funky perforated belt isn't sold yet. It's actually a skinny belt, but the front part's all wide and rocker-ish.

Fashion Loft

Shorts with suspenders are t3h bomb. Because I said so. I mean, why not? They look pretty damn good if you wear them with a buttoned up shirt, and probably might qualify for the office if your office doesn't have a strict dress code. Nonetheless, wear a rainbow hued tank top underneath it and you'll look just as fab.

Se.xx.y

Sexy is indeed, one of the many words used to describe this gorgeous paisley dress. A few other adjectives would be gorgeous, as I've said, stunning, elegant...the list goes on. Anyway, I also like the bluish hues of this dress. Very oceanlike, so I think this will be very suitable if you wear it while having dinner in a place overlooking the beach!

Hello everyone! How was your New Year? Mine was an eventful one, albeit a little tiring. But party's over - time to get back to business!

La Femme Fatale

These look like either donuts or floats to me. But since donuts cannot be black, I'll assume they're rockstar designed floats! Perfect for the Avril Lavigne in you.

XOXO Kiss

Chinese New Year is all about red and prosperous. So don this red halter on the first day of CNY and show off that prosperous body!

Simpli-licious

Just when we had too much of tights, socks are in again! Okay, they were never really out. We just didn't show them off from our shoe-covered feet. But these look like mid-calf socks to me. Wear them with a mini skirt!

Flitterby

Let the one toned hobo bag be gone with 2008! Bring in the jigsaw-like bag. Btw, it's just a spontaneous name from me. I don't really know if there's an exact name for that kind of design, so please don't take my word for it!

Peep

If you're celebrating your CNY a little more grandly (especially for that reunion dinner!), don this elegant floral maxi! I'm sure the elders will approve, and definitely those of your generation. ;D Wear them with super high heels!

Rosette Coutures

Ooh, a diamante encrusted heart pendant! I'm sure this will go well with almost any of my tops. They don't lie when they say diamonds are a girl's best friend. We might have to settle for diamantes for now, but that's better than nothing!

Sealed With A Kiss

This jacket is very Pussycat Dolls! Just imagine if your wear something skimpy underneath, paired with satin shorts and strappy heels. Purr-fect.

Lush Serendipity

More is less. Especially in this case. With the tantalising crochet design showing off bits of your skin, it's even sexier than wearing a string bikini! Remember girls; it's nice to show some skin, but even nicer to leave some parts to the imagination.

Cat in a Bowl

Okay, how cool is this? Miss Cat in a Bowl handmade everything in this post! The beanies, and the maxi dress. *amazed* You are so cool! Anyway, beanies are in. I mean, you see them on all the model's heads, so it's about time you owned one as well. This blue one has a cute ribbon on it, and it's detachable. So if you like, you can use the ribbon as a hair barette!

Teamo

You know what ruffled skirts like these go best with? A tightey whitey tank top. I'd fold in the high waisted part to make it look less formal, but that's just me. I love this skirt because there's a deliberate mess about it that makes it so quirky and cute! I'd wear this with a white or pink tank top, and espadrilles accesorized with a long necklace.

The Shoplifters

More tights to go with your butt-high tops/dresses! A friend of mine told me that to completely pull off tights, you should wear it with a top or dress that ends just above the ass. Don't worry about being indecent. The tights will cover your crotch and butt cheeks.

Wish Upon A Bear

There's something about the green that makes me fall in love with this dress! Not to mention the extra little strap hanging in between the two spaghetti straps, and the elastic waist. If you're not one to mind short skirts, I think this dress would look great on its own with a pair of ballet flats.

A Fashion Story

This crown studs are really Juicy Couture-ish. And I think it's something different to have a pair of 3D studs instead of the usual flat ones. Goes great with a flashy outfit, or to touch up an androgynous outfit.

Drestres

The lady in blue walks into the room. When she makes her entrance, everyone looked up to gaze at the lady in the shimmering blue dress. She continues to walk forward, entrancing everyone, and when they saw her sexy crossed back, they gasped. Every man in the room wanted to dance with her. But she looked over her back, gave an intriguing smile, and disappeared into the crowd.
Lol. Wtf?

Ablinc

Now this maxi dress is something different. Its straight cuts will make one look tall and elegant, but look! It isn't just pure black. There's a slit exposing some psydellic geometrical print there. Now that's some sneak peek.

Pandora Gallery & Boutique

This bright red halter top is just the perfect top for the upcoming CNY. It has buttons and pockets, which adds to the cuteness factor. I think this top and a mini skirt or just plain jeans will go well together.

Clothes I Like

Right, let's start the post with a tshirt! As you don't already know, I am a very tshirts-jeans-sneakers sort of girl. Not the best look, but it's comfortable. And we all know nothing beats comfort. Except for style. Which brings to mind this tshirt! Tshirts with a face on it seems to be quite the in thing now, isn't it? I've seen it on runways but I think I'm not qualified to say whether it's this season's look or next season's. Nonetheless, I think this tshirt is great, whether or not it's in.

Little Miss Eggie

I'm so happy to think that we're almost, almost, over the overly-flowery maxi dresses that are everywhere. Although I do have an idea that the reason why they popped up so much is because maxi dresses are usually thought of as dinner-wear; elegant, formal. So I guess the flowery ones are meant for less formal occassions? Nonetheless, I still find it hard to get it out of my head that maxi dresses equals formal dinner wear. A good thing too, as look what I've found! Super embellished collar black maxi dress. The blinged collar was found on tops, now they've finally made their way to maxi dresses. But remember ladies, since you're so blinged already, scrimp on the shiny accessories.

Violetpots

I don't know why, but paisley always reminds me of indie. Not indian, indie. Nonetheless, I think this top looks stunning, especially the colour. It will look great with jeans and espadrilles, or maybe a pair of white satin shorts and strappy heels.

Do Not Bleach

Is it me, or does fedoras not go with short hair? A bit sad, guess I'll have to grow out my hair before it looks okay on me. But when I do get a fedora, I'd like one like this! Pinstriped, very androgynous. But then I don't feel like growing out my hair. I feel like cutting my hair ala Kinky Blue Fairy (the previous hairstyle)!

Addicted2Fashion

Oh, I like this dress. Very fierce! Or maybe it's just the model. But that's the thing isn't it? 10 different people can wear the same thing, but have a different outlook. What they wear blends with their style and how they carry themselves off. As for me, I don't have long curly hair nor mile long legs. So probably I can't look as fierce as her. Nonetheless, I love this tartan tube dress very much!

A Fashion Reborn

Every girl should own at least a few pairs of long sleeved knit tops. Despite our scorching weather, there's something called air conditioning. And at times, it can be very cold. What do you do? Invest in this bright orange knit top, that's for sure! I think it'll look great in a white high waisted skirt!

Crystals Paradize
.

We've had the ocean inspired jewellery like dolphins and such, but hardly starfish! Your ears will look really starry wearing these, that's for sure.

Kiss My Shopping Ass
.

I love the name of the shop! Luckily, the clothes do not disappoint as well. Take this maxi dress for instance. Though I have mentioned I hate floral maxis with a vengeance, I really like this one. A deep dark blue, it looks as though those flowers are peeking out in the darkness at the beach. I have no idea why, but it looks like that to me.

Velvet Ribbon
.

If you're down in the dumps, wear something really bright to brighten your mood. Like this pink tiered dress! Look fabulous, stylish, and be happy at the same time. Tone the dress down with darker coloured shoes or bag.

Luscious Lips
.

Ooh, I quite like this tshirt! It's like LeSportSac meets Nippon paint blobs. No kidding. I'm loving the vintagey look of it, coupled with the unbrightened-bright colours. Don't understand me? It's okay. As long as you like this tshirt as well, who cares??

Fashionology

Proof that our mundane uniform from the high school days can be sexy and stylish, with the right cut, size, and style. Why do we need to envy Japanese schoolgirls for their plaid mini skirts and prissy blouses with knee length socks, when we have our cute lil pinafore? :P

Dandelion's Kisses

Here's a blazer with a twist. Lots of gold buttons, all faux. You can button neither one of them, but from the picture, it looks like you just need to hook 'em on!

Fashion Edge

Or if blazers aren't your thing, you could go for something rougher and more casual, like this biker jacket! Ditch the black and whites of jackets, go for brown instead! You know it goes fabulously well with a white tshirt and jeans.

My Favourite Tees.com

So they don't only sell tees, but also dresses and other tops! You know, clothes are all about feel and intuition. I only pick clothes which I like to review. While I really liked some of the tshirts that were sold here, so did most others. Which was why all the tshirts I really liked were sold out, but then I wasn't really satisfied with tshirts I settled for as "second best". So I look at the other dresses, and I found this! I instantly fell in love with it, that's why I reviewed a dress instead of tshirts which is what they're specialized in. This dress looks exactly like one would wear in a LookBook.nu photo. The entire combination is sort of artsy meets urban chick. Plus I'm into grey now, so yeah!

The Bouncing Bananas

Say hello to boots with a twist. In our balmy Malaysian weather, one wouldn't be comfortable wearing boots for an entire day. We need our feet to breathe, lest we get an athlete's foot. So we have the perfect solution for you! I don't know what you call this, but it can't be peep toed boots. It looks like pumps, but with extra material to fashion it into a boot. This tan colour goes extremely well with dark jeans, so you know what to match it with.

Favourite Boutique

Though it has been raining these few days, we should stock up for the upcoming hot weather in the new year. I know, only one more month till it's 2009! So get this sleeveless dress in a flowy material, especially for girls who detest jeans. I have a friend who is always in skirts and hardly in jeans. When I ask her why, she says it's because it's too hot! But then there are the few of us who practically live in jeans. Okay, I'm digressing.

Round Bean
.

The blogger is right, this bracelet looks absolutely Tiffanyesque, what with the thick stainless steel charms and tiny diamante studs on them. Best part is that you can hook it to whichever chain link you want, so you can use it as a bracelet, or an anklet.

So Into You

If you're a great fan of tradition, I have the perfect Chinese New Year dress for you. Though not a traditional cheongsam, its redness is enough to have that traditional look! Also, upon closer inspection, there are yellowish gold flowers on it. Subtle, but very refined. If you don't mind pre owned items, this is your best bet!

Le-Identity

This is the first of its sort that I've seen. First leopard prints appeared on our clothes, shoes, underwear, bags, and now, rings! Personally, what I love about it are the leopard prints (how predictable)! So different, and something new.

all dressed up with places to go

This entry is dedicated to dresses! With dresses, you can either be girly, sweet, elegant, demure, sexy, or vampy. It's all in the dress and the attitude.

Soul Chic

Let's start with yet another pinafore. Sweet pink, with two cute buttons on the waistline. Looks best when paired with a top inside, preferably white. However, if you don't mind, you can always ditch the inner top and wear it by itself.

Lah'Lah'Land

This shop sells mostly vintage clothings, but when I saw this I immediately fell in love with it. With its dark coloured plaids, it looks preppy. But with its overall design, I can't say whether I should call this a pinafore or not. This is certainly something different from the mainstreams in the blogosphere, especially with the quirky slit down the front.

Dress to Kill

Dress to look sporty in this! Although it's supposed to be a long top, but I guess for the extreme petites this should do as a mini dress. You could copy the model and dress this up with bracelets and a hat. Or you can change it a little to your own style. Instead of a beret, try a trucker cap. Instead of bracelets, try cuffs. Improvise.

The four things I love about this dress:
#1 The candy colours that are available.
#2 The pockets
#3 The racerback style
and most importantly,
#4 The long drawstrings! Seeing as it's so long, there are so many ways for you to tie it. You can tie it round and round and round your waist, crossed like in the picture, or make it a long dangly ribbon. Take your pick.

45°C Workshop
.

See what I said about bright colours being in fashion now? Even the OL dresses aren't spared. Thank God for small favours, otherwise we'd be stuck in the mundane world of OL fashion. This time around we have this bright yellow dress. Even though it's a simple short sleeved dress, check out the big big flower on the upper right and bottom left corner! Simply adorable. Pair it with a cincher, a tank watch and strappy heels.

Autumn Closet

Whenever I think of "toga dresses", I see a Greek god's clothing. No idea why. But anyway, you can look like a Greek goddess yourself in this stunning dark turqoise number. Will look great in a pair of gladiator heels or strappy sandals, alongside with a chunky bracelet and shoulder dusting earrings.

Miss Capsicum

A little bit of vintagey thrown here, but it still looks fab without looking too old, thanks to the tube design. Since it looks a little vintage, you can always add some modern accessories. Like, a charm bracelet maybe? A pair of dangly earrings, and maybe, maybe, some patterned tights might work. Good news - the skinny belt is inclusive!

Ministry of Clothes

The gates of heaven has opened today. This is exactly the type of elegant, formal maxi I have been looking for in the blogosphere. Not those flowery types, not those with kaleidoscopic designs, not the kimono types, but this. The whole dress is only in one colour, but yet it has the elegance. Perfect for dinners. That rose sash comes together with the dress, so all the better!
